Loving the Cooler Weather

Fall is in the air! The weather is wonderful! We have enjoyed spending lots of time outdoors!

We just added a new addition to our family! We are still trying to decide on a name! Ellie, our three year old Yorkie is still trying to adjust to the new baby!

Courtney is a junior in high school this year! Wow, time is flying by! We are so proud she has just been accepted as a member of DCHS National Honor Society! This weekend she will take the ACT and in the next few weeks we will start visiting local colleges.

Courtney has decided she will take a break from all-star cheerleading this year and try out for the high school tennis team. She is taking tennis lessons to prepare for tryouts! The last time she had a tennis lesson was probably 5th grade!!!!

(The quality of the photos are not very good because the camera is focusing on the glass and because of the distance of my husband's cell phone! I definitely will take our camera to the next lesson!)

This school year should be exciting and very busy!

Hello Blog Friends!

It has been months since by last blog update, January to be exact!  

  

Slowly, I am adjusting going back to work! It is gratifying having a career that is rewarding and so much fun! Who knew work could be fun!?!

DeSoto Starz All Star cheerleader team competed in their last competition during Spring Break in Orlando, FL at the ESPN Wide World of Sports! The Starz ended the season as 2011 UCA National Champions! Courtney and I enjoyed every second of our trip from the thrilling rides, yummy food, wonderful friends, and especially winning our FIRST “Black Jacket”!!!

The biggest surprise since my last post is that Courtney REFUSES ENJOYS driving!  It amazes me every time we get in the car. She repeatedly ask why I stare at her while she drives. I try to explain, without tears, that I cannot believe she is old enough to drive. She always laughs and shakes her head ”Mom, I am not 10 years old anymore!” 

Dink and I are taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather. Spring is my favorite season! We both enjoy spending every spare second outdoors! He is gifted at landscaping. We have the prettiest landscaped yard on our street! 

My newest obsession is watching http://www.raptorresource.org/falcon_cams/index.html , a pair of American Bald Eagles and their nest! On April 6, I witnessed the final egg hatching! Dink and I have the Eagle cam pulled up 24/7. You should check it out! Warning, you may become obsessed, too!

LOVE MY JOB!!

In December, I completed dental school and externship. My externship included general dentistry and orthodontics. During my externship, I immediately knew I enjoyed “hands on” and working with children (and adults). I was thrilled when the orthodontic office offered me a position!

It is fun getting the patients pumped up about the braces before they get them on, and I love watching the transition as they change to the perfect smile. The day the patients get their braces off is my favorite. It is exciting to be a part of their "Big Day" in unveiling their new smile. The looks on their faces and the confidence they exude makes me so happy for them, and rewarding to have been a part of the process from the beginning.

I enjoy meeting new people and in orthodontics, you actually get a change to build special relationships with patients. I am so excited to work in a rewarding atmosphere. We have a lot of fun at our office! Every day is exciting!!
