Not Me! Monday

Here are a few things I absolutely, positively did NOT do!

  • I was not looking forward to Monday just because this is my 1st post  Not Me, Monday!

  • I did not eat birthday cake with just for my dinner. Never, No, not me!

  • I did not squeal, jump, and high-five when the New Orleans Saints won the NFC Championship in overtime.

  • I am not ecstatic New Orleans Saints are Super Bowl-Bound! I certainly did not sing 'Who Dat' and dance around the den! Nope, not me!

  • I would never leave dirty dishes in the sink before going to bed.

  • I certainly did not cry when DCHS Cheerleaders finally beat South Panola in the cheer competition this weekend.

  • I do not cry every time American Idol is on and people make it to Hollywood after overcoming tragedies in their life. I am not tenderhearted and cry over 'everything'!

  • I did not want to start another makeover project. I do not want to make-over the media room (like right now)!

  • There is no way I would be sitting playing Words with Friends on my iPhone when laundry needs folding. Nope not me!

  • And of course, it is not time for me to start the laundry!

What have you not done lately? Leave your "Not Me's" in the comments section or post your "Not Me's" on your blog today!
Come on...it’s fun!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. Hop on over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have NOT been doing this week.

First Time

(I apologize in advance for any misspellings, grammatical errors, odd punctuation, ect. I admit writing does not come easy!!!)

I am so thrilled to receive a lunch invitation to eat at the popular Kyoto Japanese restaurant for my birthday. The ‘Big Day’ finally arrives and the excitement is about to begin. This means trying sushi for the first time (no worries, my sweet friend Dawn knows all about sushi).

We enter the restaurant and choose to sit at a table instead of the hibachi grill (I did not want to embarrass anybody).

“The big decision - What To Order”

The menu is actual easy to comprehend. It has an assortment of rolls and a listing of ingredients. After deliberating, the final choice is the Curly Sue rolls (crab, cream cheese, and shrimp) the rice is on the outside, and the nori is on the inside. We also order shrimp fried rice.

True Friendship

"To Have A Friend You Must First Be A Friend”

A new friend and I met for lunch. We talked and talked for hours. We both are alike in many ways. This sweet new friend is truly adorable. Can a true friendship be developing? Thoughts started pondering, who is a true friend and what qualities should every friend have.

We will meet hundreds of people during our lifetime but only a few of them will develop into true friends.

As time progresses, a friend becomes more than a friend. A friend develops into family, someone that you simply cannot envision not being in your life. A friend becomes a part of you.

Ten qualities every friend should have

You should consider yourself incredibly lucky if you have one or more true friend(s).

10 qualities every friend should have.
  • TRUSTWORTHY
  • ACCEPTING
  • RELIABLE
  • HONESTY
  • CARING
  • FORGIVING
  • FUN
  • GOODLISTENER
  • LOYALTY
  • SUPPORTIVE

Hooked

I generally do not play games on my iPhone. This week has been a different story. If you enjoy playing Scrabble, do not miss getting this addicting game. I have had an entertaining week playing Words With Friends, online Scrabble. At any spare time, several games can be ongoing. While waiting for a friend to make their move, new opponents can be added. You can play with friends from your contact list on your phone, from friend’s user name, or you can find a random opponent. At the present, I have 10 games going simultaneously. The game allows you to chat with taunt your friends while playing.

It has been an enormous challenge for my cobwebbed brain. My tiny vocabulary has expanded. Scheming to find big pointer words has been tough. It is difficult losing against family members and old high school friends. You understand I am extremely competitive.

Anyway, I had better go, my phone just chimed and it is my turn to “bust” a move. Somebody is going down!

Mix N Chop

I enjoy finding helpful kitchen gadgets. My friend Jennifer described how clever the tool works. The Mix N Chop crumbles and chops the foods in even size pieces. Yippee, the sausage rotel dip is getting a makeover. The sausage will instantly be equal in size and not hulking big chunks. You truly ought to include one in your kitchen paraphernalia. The Mix N Chop can be purchased at The Pampered Chef for an incredibly price (ONLY $10).

Snowed in!

The past few “snow days” have allowed me to catch up on some much-needed projects. After putting all the Christmas decorations away, I can’t wait to get started. I love to redesign several areas. I enjoy recreating a cozy space with items I already have. The new year is here and it’s time for a fresh start. It’s refreshing walking through our home and sensing the comfort.

My Blog also received a makeover. Hot Bliggity Blog has the cutest backgrounds. The header is created using Scrapblog. I have exhausted two days attempting to set up a “grab button”. The picture will appear but the connection to my blog is when the problem occurs. Today, I have simply given up. Another website I highly recommend is Sneaky Momma Blog Design. The Blog has helpful tips by ability levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced).

What a feeling of accomplishment while being snowed in!

SNOW

We received our first snow of 2010. The accumulation is light. Courtney is thrilled to miss a day of school and cheer practice!

The snow is EXTREMELY dry. Courtney is INCREDIBLY imaginative... observe the cake icing holding the candies in place.

Cheerleaders are REQUIRED to build a snowman or they will RUN when returning to practice! It is difficult (but not impossible).

Ellie is stylish in her new Christmas sweater and jacket!

It is so cold we have ice floating in our pool! The temp is 29 degrees and feels like 19 degrees. Our area has a 70% chance of snow Thursday morning. Brrrr

Bunco

My friend, Shelia, started our Bunco group in November. The eight of us get together each month. We all host a month and prepare a meal for the group. Tonight we played and had a wonderful time. My sides ache from laughing. Even though I did not win the “mass of cash”, I look forward to next month laughing and socializing with an entertaining group of women.

Happy New Year

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. The year went by so fast and 2009 has so many blessings to be thankful.

FIVE THINGS I AM THANKFUL FOR IN 2009:

1. I am thankful to God for meeting all my needs.
2. I am thankful for my loving family and caring friends.
3. I am thankful for my Church.
4. I am thankful for my family’s health, protection and safety and for another year of life.
5. I am thankful for simple joys.

FIVE THINGS I WANT TO IMPROVE IN 2010:

1. Continue to read the Bible in 365 days…I am on day 167.
2. I want to be a better Christian.
3. I want to be a better wife, mother, and friend.
4. I want to be healthier. I am addicted to sugar and need to cut it ALL out!
5. I want to do more random acts of kindness for others who need help.
